Rules of Conduct

  1. As a private non-profit club, all CAFN events are invitation-only and are not open to the general public. A member of the club may invite guests, but each guest must be interviewed by a club guest/membership committee representative (appointed by the CAFN Board of Directors) before attending his or her first event. In addition, if the guest is a first-time visitor to a nudist event, the guest must attend a CAFN orientation preceding the event.
  2. Minors will only be admitted if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Proof of guardianship is required.
  3. If anyone, whether a guest or member, is found to have provided a false name, address, telephone number, or information about his or her marital status, that person, at a minimum, will be denied attendance at CAFN events.
  4. Membership confidentiality is the responsibility of members and guests alike. No one should reveal (without prior permission) the fact of anyone's membership in the club, attendance at an event, or any attendee's surname/phone/email or any other identifying information, to any non-member.
  5. Following etiquette for all nudist events, all guests and members must bring a towel to sit on and should not sit on another person's towel without permission.
  6. Jewelry or other body decoration that draws attention to the genitals or the breasts is prohibited. The same is true for clothing that is sexy, suggestive, see-through or enticing. Garments, especially those that barely cover some body parts, are far more alluring than simple nudity. If you have genital or breast piercings, you are welcome to attend the events if you would please remove the jewelry before attending the event. Similarly, suggestive tattoos present on any part of the body must be covered.
  7. While some events may require clothing for part of the time (such as hiking a public trail to a skinny-dipping site), other events such as a recreation center party, house party, etc., are considered clothing-free during the whole event, temperature permitting. If guests are too emotionally uncomfortable to undress, they should respect the comfort of others and opt not to participate in that event. Doing otherwise presents the perception of voyeurism (whether it is the case or not) and potentially causes discomfort to others. Anyone who is cold or sunburned is, of course, encouraged to cover-up as needed.
  8. Menstruating women are welcome to wear a sarong, shorts, towel, or other non-suggestive garment.
  9. Men who experience an erection, should cover themselves with a towel to avoid embarrassment
  10. Cameras will not be allowed at any event without prior permission of the CAFN Board of Directors. If cameras are allowed at an event, no pictures can be taken without the permission of each and every subject of the photograph. Pictures may be occasionally used in newsletters and other publications, but never without the specific consent of those photographed for each usage.
  11. Alcohol in moderation is acceptable at a CAFN event, but drunken behavior is not.
  12. Members of other clubs whose Mission Statements are counter to the CAFN Mission Statement and Code of Ethics are not allowed to market their club activities at CAFN events.
  13. Anyone showing behavior in any way deemed to be inappropriate, vulgar, excessively profane, disruptive, or sexual in nature will be asked to leave.
  14. Anything unlawful such as the possession or use of drugs, or suspicious behavior especially with regard to our children, will immediately and without hesitation be reported to law enforcement authorities.
  15. CAFN's events are smoke-free except where appropriate facilities exist to accommodate smokers. In no instance should a member or guest smoke where smoking is not permitted or smoke around members or guests who object to cigarette, cigar, or pipe smoke. In the case of house parties, smoking will be permitted to the extent allowed by the host or hostess.
  16. CAFN will try to maintain a 60/40 percent gender balance in attendance at all of its events, except in instances where CAFN's Board of Directors decides to waive this rule.
  17. For recreational center events, house parties, or other similar events, use of the hot tub, pool, and other equipment are subject to the host facility's rules as well as CAFN rules.
  18. One or more violations of the rules cited above may be grounds for revocation of membership, banning from any or all CAFN events, or other lesser sanctions as deemed necessary by the CAFN Board of Directors.
