Nominations for Board of Directors Sought

Members of Capital Area Family Naturists are encouraged to submit nominations for the club elections to be held at the annual members meeting on November 18. The election will be held to fill all seven seats on the club's Board of Directors: president, vice-president, treasurer, secretary, and three directors.
Nominations will be accepted up until immediately prior to the election on the evening of the 18th. However, the deadline for getting your name one the proxy ballot that will be mailed to members is midnight October 15.
Members may nominate others or may nominate themselves to any of these positions. Send your nominations to secretary@cafnat.org on or before October 15, 2006.
Annual Members Meeting Held
November 5, 2005
Capital Area Family Naturists held its second annual meeting at 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 5 in Woodbridge, Virginia. Twenty-nine of the club's 58 members attended the meeting.
At the meeting, attendees approved amendments to the club's bylaws that will allow members to vote by written proxy at future meetings. An updated copy of the CAFN Bylaws in PDF format is available for download here.
Members also held elections for officers and directors to serve on the club's Board of Directors. All six of last year's BOD members stood for reelection and were unanimously reelected.
Special for First Time Visitors

Effective October 1, visitors may attend their first Capital Area Family Naturists event at the member price. For example, a couple who have never been to a CAFN event can attend a Rec Center Party for $35.00 instead of the usual non-member price of $53.00.
Guests who request a membership application after attending their first event will receive coupons allowing them to attend three additional club events at the member price.
Annual Members Meeting To Be Held November 5

The annual members meeting of Capital Area Family Naturists will be held on November 5, 2005 at 6:00pm in Woodbridge, Virginia. The meeting will be held immediately prior to the Rec Center Party also scheduled for that evening at the same location. The agenda for the meeting includes the election of officers and directors to the club's Board of Directors and an amendment to the club's bylaws that will make it easier to achieve a quorum at future meetings.
Under the requirements of the CAFN bylaws, more than 50% of CAFN's members must attend the annual meeting for business to be conducted. This means that about 30 members must attend this year's meeting for the club to be able to hold elections.
CAFN Becomes AANR Affiliate

CAFN is now a member, non-landed club with the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR), with provisional status until we have 15 paying members of AANR. We are able to sign up members at this time at the "Club" rate of $32.00 for a single membership and $62.50 for a dual membership. Membership is paid through CAFN, and can be sent in with your 2005 dues if you wish.
If you are already an AANR member, you can have your membership transferred to be credited towards CAFN. The transfer form must also be sent in through CAFN to be credited and official.

Hiking, Canoeing and Sailing Added to Calendar

The 2005 Calendar of Events has expanded to include nude hiking, canuding (nude canoeing), trips to landed clubs and sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. Details on these events are forthcoming, but in the meantime, mark your calendar.
House Parties Added to Calendar

Two house parties, a Super Bowl party on February 6 and a wine-and-cheese party on March 12 have been added to the Calendar of Events. CAFN members who are willing to host house parties should contact our events coordinator at events@cafnat.org.
New Members Wanted

Annual Members Meeting Held
November 6, 2004
Capital Area Family Naturists had its first annual meeting at 6:00 PM this evening at the Rec Center in Woodbridge. At the meeting, members ratified the club's by-laws and elected a Board of Directors.
By-laws created by the temporary Board of Directors in September were ratified by a unanimous vote.
The nominating committee nominated seven members to fill the seven seats on the Board of Directors. All seven members were elected by acclamation in a unanimous vote.
Of the clubs 42 members, 24 attended the meeting. The club's by-laws required that at least 23 members be present to establish a quorum, so that club business could be conducted.
Club Incorporates
August 13, 2004
Capital Area Family Naturists was officially incorporated in Virginia today as "Capital Area Family Naturists, Inc." The member-run club was established on March 27 by members of the now-dormant Bare Buns Family Nudist Club.
